The Austrian desk at the German Studies Association Annual Conference in 2025.

The Center was pleased to be present at the Forty-Ninth Annual Conference of the German Studies Association, which took place from September 25–28 2025 in Arlington, Virginia. We maintained a presence in the exhibitor area of the conference in cooperation with the Austrian Embassy in the United States. On Friday, Center Austria Director Marc Landry served as the discussant on the panel Transatlantic Relations: Austria, the USA, and Skiing in the Twentieth Century, which investigated the influence of Austrians on the development of U.S. ski resorts in the 20th century. WE were delighted to see Director Emeritus Guenter Bischof in the audience! We love coming to the GSA conference and network with our friends and colleagues and are looking forward to seeing them again in Phoenix next year.
