A Message from Christian Stenico

On the Occasion of 25 Years of the Austrian Marshall Plan Center for European Studies

I came to Center Austria as the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science Ministry Doctoral Research Fellow in September 2019.

However, the city had to go into lockdown in early 2020. At UNO, the administration reacted quickly and implemented a work-from-home policy.

I mainly worked as an editorial assistant on Volume 29 of Contemporary Austrian Studies.

I applied for the Doctoral Research Fellowship again for the year 2020–21 and received it. I worked on CAS 30. In July 2021, I went home to Austria for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic. I came back for a third year as the “Nick Mueller Fellow” and was appointed the first Center Austria/UNO Press Publishing Fellow. Center Austria was busy organizing the annual meeting of the Austrian Studies Association. We hosted the meeting successfully in April 2022.
