Mr. Arvid Enders, Minister Counselor and Director of the German Information Center at the German Embassy in Washington, DC, spoke with UNO faculty, students, and staff about possible joint projects at UNO's Marshall Plan Center for European Studies.
Center Austria awarded two Deutsch Foundation Travel Awards to Jacob Wade and Emma Obermayr.
The center was well-represented at the 2018 Annual Meeting of the German Studies Association (GSA), which was held in Pittsburgh, PA from September 27-30, 2018. Center Austria Director Günter Bischof and Associate Director Marc Landry were both in attendance and actively took part in the conference.
A group of University of Innsbruck students at UNO toured the National World War II Museum and were welcomed by Dr. Mueller, the museum’s founding director and CEO, who previously had also served as Center Austria’s inaugural director.
The 2018 meeting of Austrian centers was organized by the the Wirth Center at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. The final day of the meeting was held at Lake Louise in Banff National Park. Attending for Center Austria were associate director Mark Landry, Center Austria Fellows Bela Teleky and Bernhard Achhorner, and Günter Bischof (Director).

Center Austria congratulates Dietmar Riedl, recipient of the 2018 UNO - Center Austria Prize in Transatlantic History. His work, Die Behandlung des Holocaust im Nürnberger Prozess gegen die Hauptkriegsverbrecher und die Wahrnehmung in der deutschen Nachkriegsöffentlichkeit, also won Best Paper at historia.scribere 10.

My name is Ben Benton and I am currently working as an intern at the University of New Orleans’s Center Austria. I had to become an intern as part of a graduation requirement for school.
