The City of Innsbruck-University of New Orleans Art Exchange
In the Fall of 2000, the City of Innsbruck and and the University of New Orleans launched an arts exchange program. Tyrolese artsists display their work every Fall at the UNO St. Claude Gallery, and several graduates of the UNO Fine Arts department exhibit their work every summer in the City of Innsbruck's Andechs Gallery.
Short artists-in-residence stays have been added to familiarize the artists with the artictic communities in both cities. The UNO Department of Fine Arts has been Center Austria's partner from the beginning of this successful and popular exchange . In Innsbruck, Mr. Horst Burmann from the city's Cultural Office handled the exchanges from the beginning until his retirement. Since 2013, Mrs. Natalie Pedevilla has taken over the coordination of the arts exchange on the Innsbruck side. Mrs. Kathy Rodriguez, the director of the St. Claude Gallery, is in charge of coordinating the exhibits in New Orleans.
