International Marshall Plan Center Workshop
The International Marshall Plan Center at Dodona Manor in Lynchburg, Virginia, organized a one-week teachers' workshop the last week of October to study the Marshall Plan sites in Austria. CenterAustria's Dr. Bischof helped conceptualize the program and arrange for guest lecturers in Austria. A select group of American and Austrian high school teachers particpated in this workhop. William Eacho, U.S. Ambassador to Austria (at center of picture), welcomed the group in Vienna. John Parauka (seventh from right), the head of the social studies department at Benjamin Franklin High School in New Orleans (one of the schools in the UNO network of charter schools), was a participant in the workshop. The mission of the workshop is to keep the memory of the Marshall Plan alive in the American and Austrian classrooms for the next generation.
