Who Is That?

First Down Austrian Saints Fanclub in New Orleans for the 44th Superbowl

Martin Frick and Jakob Pinggera studied at UNO in the 2006/7 academic year. In that year they became fans of UNO, of New Orleans and of the Saints. They founded the Saints fanclub 'First Down' and returned to the city for the Saints Superbowl victory.

Dr. Lonnie Johnson

Center Austria and The World Affairs Council of New Orleans would like to invite you to a talk by Dr. Lonnie Johnson (Fulbright - Austrian-American Educational Commission):

Looking back on Central Europe: Twenty Years after 1989

When: February 11, 2010, 12.30pm
Where: Liberal Arts Lounge, UNO Campus

Lonnie Johnson has been the Executive Director of the Austrian-American Educational Commission (AAEC), which is responsible for managing bilateral Fulbright exchanges between Austria and the United States, since 1997. Before joining the AAEC staff, he directed the Austrian Academic Exchange Service's Office for International Affairs (94-97); was the Associate Director for Program Development at Institute for Human Sciences, Vienna, a center for advanced study (91-94); and served as the Associate Director and Dean of Students at the Institute of European Studies (IES), Vienna Program: the oldest and largest study abroad program for U.S. undergraduates in Austria.

He is the author of Introducing Austria (Ariadne Press, 1989); Vienna: The Past in the Present (with Inge Lehne, 2nd edition, Ariadne Press, 1995), and Central Europe: Enemies, Neighbors, Friends (Oxford University Press: 3rd revised and expanded edition forthcoming 2010).
