Since 1976, the first year of affiliation with the University of Innsbruck, some 6,000 college, high school, and adult students have enrolled in programs sponsored by the University of Innsbruck.

In addition to the degree programs of its seven formal colleges, the University of Innsbruck offers certificate programs in Marketing, Export, International Management, and Tourism. It also has a School of Music, which is a branch of the Mozarteum in Salzburg, and a major Sports Institute. The Sports Institute offers extensive credit and non-credit courses in virtually every sport and exercise art.
